The Australian Cancer Research Foundation was established in 1984 by the late Sir Peter Abeles and since its inception has operated thanks to some very wise investments by its initial supporters. Today these investments cover 100% of our operational costs - therefore every donation received goes toward achieving our ultimate goal - which is finding a cure for cancer.
- We raise funds exclusively for cancer research.
The ACRF grants are awarded for the purpose of creating the infrastructure which enables new and critical research to take place at Australia’s leading research institutions.
All ACRF grants are subject to a rigorous approval process overseen by our honorary Medical Research Advisory Committee, whose members include many of Australia’s best, brightest and most respected cancer research scientists. The MRA Committee is chaired by Professor Ian Frazer.
