Ritchies Covid-19 update

Dear Customers,

On behalf of the Friendliest Team at Ritchies IGA, we would like to thank you for shopping with Ritchies IGA and hope that you are staying safe whilst enjoying yourself this holiday period.

As you are aware, COVID is continuing to cause severe disruptions to our way of life, not least due to the high levels of transmission associated with the new COVID variant, Omicron.

As a result of this new phase of community transmission, we are experiencing a number of supply shortages. Amongst other things, this has been caused by COVID cases at our Suppliers’ businesses and our wholesale distribution centres, as well as to our delivery drivers and has led to our stock deliveries being late and/or some products not being available.

Furthermore, we are also experiencing a high level of absenteeism in our stores, with a number of our team members currently isolating due to COVID positive results. We estimate that approx. 8% of our workforce is currently unavailable.

We want you to know that no one is working harder than Ritchies to get stock on shelves and into your baskets and trolleys. We will continue to work as hard as we can in the coming days and weeks and this includes securing key products such as meat, milk and bread. We would like to point out that we do have sufficient stock within all categories at present, to enable our customers to shop as usual (even if this does mean some of your favourite brands or product sizes are temporarily unavailable). We also hope to have Rapid Antigen Tests (“RAT’s”) available in the near future.

We would like to take this time to remind you to be kind to our team members and other shoppers. We are all going through COVID together, and it is through maintaining our kindness to each other that we will see the other side of COVID and a return to normalcy (which hopefully will be sometime soon). To this end, we ask that you continue to check-in via QR code, sanitise your hands, wear masks covering your mouth and nose whilst shopping in our stores and maintain social distancing at all times.

Just a reminder, shoppers who are feeling unwell and have COVID symptoms should not enter our stores. Thank you again for shopping at Ritchies IGA. Here’s to a bright and better 2022.
