The Peninsula Carer Council (PCC) is a completely voluntary organisation of carers of people with a mental illness living on the Mornington Peninsula.
The main objective of the PCC is to try to ensure that all carers on the Peninsula shall know about services and resources which can support, encourage and inform them.
The PCC has an office and a Carer Support Group. The office is based in the building of the Peninsula Support Services 23 - 25 Yuilles Rd. Mornington, and staffed by volunteers four mornings each week. The Support Group is held at 7.30pm on the third Monday of each month in the Brotherhood of St. Laurence Complex 26 High St. Frankston.
A Newsletter is sent to members (90) bi-monthly and the postage is completely funded by Ritchie's Community Card. The PCC believes that “No carer of a person with a mental illness should ever have to feel alone.” It is not easy being a carer of a person with a mental illness but it is great for all of us to know that in our community there are people and organisations like Ritchies' who really care for our community.
