Maffra Secondary College 2

Susanne Wilson, Assistant Principal at Maffra Secondary College says that the school has certainly benefited from Ritchies generosity over a number of years.

She said “The funds received through the Community Benefits Program have provided much needed equipment which has directly benefited your children. This equipment includes new Stoves and quality Saucepans for the Home Economics Centre, Data Projectors used by the various Faculties across the College and upgraded ICT facilities.

Over the past five years the monetary support for our school totalled more than $35,000. This is an amazing amount of money.

The College would like to thank Ritchies very much for their generosity and we ask that you continue to shop at Ritchies and nominate Maffra SC as your preferred organisation to benefit from this financial incentive. Every additional dollar that the College receives means better facilities and increased resources for your children.”

Make-A-Wish Foundation

Make-A-Wish® Australia grants the Wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Established in 1985, Make-A-Wish® is the only organisation which focuses solely on Wish granting. Since its inception, Make-A-Wish Australia has granted over 6,700 Wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The granting of a Wish has the ability to make a positive and profound impact on a child. A recent independent study found that 97% of families surveyed acknowledged there was a ‘noticeable improvement' in their child's mental and emotional health following the granting of a Make-A-Wish Wish and that 75% of children experienced an improvement in their physical health. Wishes were also proven to have a positive influence on the parents and siblings of Wish children, the research findings illustrating that: 98% of parents found the Wish offered them hope and positive forward thinking and 92% affirmed a reduction in anxiety and fear among the Wish child's siblings.
This compelling new research is evidence of just how powerful a Wish can be and how a Wish experience can make a life-changing difference.
Make-A-Wish relies on the generosity of supporters, such as Ritchies shoppers, to assist us to grant the cherished Wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Mornington Peninsula Wig Library

In 2007 Peninsula Private Hospital Oncology staff identified the need for a free wig service on the Mornington Peninsula.

In 2008 The Peninsula Community Wig Centre was established at PPH as a free service for any woman living on or being treated on the the Mornington Peninsula. The main Wig Centre is located in Frankston at the Ebdale Community Hub. We are also located at Sorrento and will be opening, this year 2015, in Hastings.

PCWC Volunteers have also trained volunteers from Cabrini Brighton,Warringal Private in Heidelberg and the Cancer Council in Carlton Victoria. Through programs like Ritchies Community Benefits we have also been able to provide some funding for these centres giving them a helping hand with their start up. 2015 will see us training volunteers from St John of God in Berwick. So many Ritchies customers contribute to the funding of these Wig Centres in many suburbs around Victoria through the Ritchies Community Benefits program.

Supervised by PPH the Wig Centre is operated solely by volunteers. We appreciate the generous donations of local groups and individuals and our many fundraising efforts are 100% directed to wigs and other items gifted to our many clients. PPH finance rent and insurance etc, allowing all of funds raised through the community to be used directly within the Wig Centre for wigs, wig nets, brushes, shampoo, conditioner and other materials.
