Terms and Conditions

1. HOW TO ENTER

To be eligible to enter, individuals must spend $40 or more (excluding tobacco, gift cards, iTunes and electronic recharge) in one transaction at any participating Ritchies Supermarket or Liquor store.

2. Participants can enter either by:

a. Online: Visit www.ritchies.com.au/birthday and follow the links to enter your details as prompted. Entrants must keep an original copy of their receipt as proof of purchase.

b. QR Code: Scan a QR code located on Ritchies 155th Birthday promotional material throughout the store and complete the entry form.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I. 1nformation on how to enter and the prize form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2. Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18+ only. 

3. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoters, participating Ritchies Supermarkets or Liquor stores, the Prize Providers and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: parent, sibling, child or spouse.

4. The Promoters and Prize Providers reserve the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions will be accepted at the Promoters’ discretion. Failure by the Promoters to enforce any of their rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

5. ncomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.

6. Multiple entries permitted, subject to the following: (a) only one entry permitted per purchase receipt; and (b) each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with entry requirements.

7. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoters reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.

8. Promotion commences on 03/09/2025. Final entries close at close of business or 11:00pm (local time) (whichever is first to occur) on 30/09/2025.

9. The Pre-Event prize draw will take place at Ritchies Supermarkets Head Office (10/1095 Frankston Dandenong Rd, Carrum Downs VIC) on 14/10/2025 at 1pm. The winners will be notified by mail/email, telephone and posted online at www.ritchies.com.au/birthday within 3 business days of prize draw.

10. If the Pre-Event prize draw winners have not claimed their prize within 14 days, a secondary prize draw may take place at Ritchies Stores Head Office on 29/10/2025 at 1pm. The winners will be notified by mail/email, telephone and posted online at www.ritchies.com.au/birthday within 3 business days of the prize draw.

11. The Promoters’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

12. The first 5 valid entries drawn in the Pre-Event prize draw will win the opportunity to attend the Ritchies Supermarkets and Liquor Stores $1.55 Million Dollar Competition. One (1) of these entrants will win the right to draw for $1,550,000 at the Finalist Event. The next 300 valid entries drawn will each win a $100 Ritchies Gift Card.

13. The Finalist Event will take place on 07/11/2025 at 5pm at Ritchies Pentridge (Coburg) Supermarket in Victoria. In order to participate in the Finalist Event:

• QLD winners will receive 2 x return flights (Brisbane to Melbourne), one night accommodation, and airport transfers.
• NSW winners will receive 2 x return flights (Sydney to Melbourne), one night accommodation, and airport transfers.
• VIC winners will receive one night accommodation and valet parking. Personal expenses and other costs are not included.

14. f a Participant cannot attend the Finalist Event, they may appoint a proxy (18+) with written and signed notice to the Promoters prior to the event. If a Participant cannot be contacted, a Promoter representative will play on their behalf. 

15. The Finalist Event consists of two draws:

• Draw 1 – Box Selection Draw:

Each participant will choose a box at random in the order they were drawn. One box contains the opportunity to enter the Balloon Draw. The remaining four

boxes each contain a $5,000 prize.

• Draw 2 – Balloon Draw:

The Balloon Draw finalist selects one balloon from a set of 200, each will have anumber corresponding to a numbered envelope. One envelope contains the

$1,550,000 Major Prize, and the other 199 contain a $10,000 consolation prize.

16. If the Major Prize Event Attendee selects the envelope containing the $1,550,000 prize, they win that amount subject to verification. All other envelopes contain the $10,000 consolation prize.

17. The winners of the prize draws will be notified by email, phone, and posted online at www.ritchies.com.au/birthday within 3 business days.

18. The odds of winning the $1,550,000 Major Prize are 1:200.

19. The total prize pool is valued up to $1,614,624.

20. Prizes will be awarded by bank transfer within 28 days of the draw.

21. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable unless otherwise specified. 

22. If a winner does not redeem the prize by the required time, it will be forfeited.

23. If any prize is unavailable, the Promoters reserve the right to substitute with an item of equal value.

24. Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, image and voice in promotional materials without remuneration.

25. If the promotion is interfered with or cannot be run as planned, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the promotion subject to regulatory approval.

26. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury incurred as a result of the promotion.

27. In the event of war, terrorism, or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right to suspend or cancel the promotion.

28.Winners must sign any legal documentation as required to claim the prize.

29. The Promoter complies with the Privacy Act 1988 and will collect and use personal information in accordance with the law.

30. The Promoter may use personal information for promotional and marketing purposes. Entrants can opt out by contacting the Promoter or clicking “unsubscribe.”

31. The Promoter is Ritchies Stores Pty Ltd, 10/1095 Frankston Dandenong Rd, Carrum Downs VIC.

32. These Terms and Conditions do not create any relationship between the Promoter and Prize Providers.
